Now that it’s summertime, your kids are going to be looking for things to do! As a family photographer and mom, I know just how important it is to make memories with your family during the summer season. However, I also know how hard it can be to find things to do that everyone in the family will love. Luckily, I have done some research and found some of the best things to do in Milwaukee with kids so you don’t have to!
If you have a family full of wild adventurers, taking a trip to the Milwaukee Zoo may quench their thirst for fun for the day! This zoo is known for its commitment to understanding wildlife, and educating the community about conservation and rehabilitation. With that said, the zoo’s mission is accomplished through creating meaningful and fun connections between its visitors and the zoo’s animal residents every day! You and your kids can venture through over ten exhibits for $14 per adult ticket and $11 per child’s ticket (ages 3-12). If you and your kids want to do something a little extra for the day, the Milwaukee Zoo features a few new animal encounters. For an extra fee on top of general admission, your kids can have the chance to feed giraffes, meet reindeer, feed exotic birds, or get up close and personal with moose!
Do you maybe have a couple of spies at home? If so, a visit to Safehouse Milwaukee would be an awesome place to visit! Bring the entire family out to Safehouse during the day to complete secret missions. As you enjoy your food, junior spies can complete scavenger hunts, have fun with magic, collect secret intel, and so much more while exploring all of the rooms in the building. Each of your little spies will receive a souvenir cup and a mission activity guide as they explore the Safehouse. Just keep in mind that Safehouse turns into a 21+ bar at 9 p.m., so schedule your missions accordingly via the Safehouse website!
It’s proven that kids just learn better when they’re having fun! If you have some explorers on your hands who are hungry for knowledge, the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum is a great place to visit! For $12 for children and adult tickets, you and your kids can enjoy a day full of exploring all of the six exhibits featured at the museum. From Let’s Play Railway to Science City, your kids can get full hands-on experience with some of the coolest activities in the museum. One thing I also love about this museum is its devotion to being inclusive for all types of families. If you have a child with sensory needs, the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum offers Sensory-Friendly Sessions!
If you’re a parent to a little Einstein, your kids are going to absolutely love Discovery World! For $20 per adult ticket and $16 per children’s ticket, you and your family can spend the day enjoying eighteen awesome exhibits. Open Wednesday-Sunday, your kiddos can learn about so many cool subjects while exploring and having fun. From the Great Lakes Future exhibit to Innovation Station, from Physics & You to the Hands-On Aquarium, the opportunities are truly endless at Discovery World!
